Welcome to Country - $770
A Welcome to Country is a formal ceremony performed by an Aboriginal Elder or Traditional Owner of the land. It is a practice that dates back to pre-colonial times and is an important cultural protocol. The ceremony acknowledges and gives permission to visitors to enter and conduct activities on the land. It is a deeply spiritual and respectful tradition where Elders or Traditional Owners speak to their ancestors, ensuring that the visitors are welcomed with goodwill.
The Welcome to Country often includes elements such as a spoken welcome, traditional dances, music like the Yidaki (Didgeridoo), and smoking ceremonies. Only an Elder or someone recognized by the local Aboriginal community as having authority can perform this ceremony. It represents the ongoing connection between the Traditional Owners and their Country, ensuring the protection and respect of both the land and the people.
This ceremony should always be respected and arranged when required, especially for significant events or gatherings on Aboriginal land.
Healing Country Ceremony - $1540
A Healing Ceremony led by Elders or Traditional Owners brings people together on Country to foster a profound spiritual connection. To begin, Elders ignite a Smoking Ceremony, where fragrant leaves and wood from native plants release smoke that drifts over the land, cleansing and healing the area. This sacred smoke serves as a bridge between the physical and spiritual worlds, inviting the presence and wisdom of the Ancestors who have watched over this Country for countless generations.
Through quiet reverence, Elders connect deeply to their Ancestors, respectfully seeking their permission and guidance to restore the health of the land and its people. The resonant sounds of the Yidaki (Didgeridoo) echo through the space, amplifying the call for healing. This sound is not only heard but felt, a reminder of the ancient rhythms that once pulsed through this Country and continue to live on.
As smoke drifts and the Yidaki resonates, participants are encouraged to stand in silence, observe, and feel the presence of the Ancestors. This ceremony is an invitation to listen with open hearts and minds, connecting to the timeless wisdom that lives in every tree, rock, and stretch of earth. In this quiet moment, healing is not only envisioned but begins—guided by the spirits of the land and the Elders who hold its stories.
Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony - $1540
A Smoking Ceremony is a traditional Aboriginal practice carried out by an Elder or Traditional Owner. It involves burning native plants that have medicinal properties to produce smoke, which has deep spiritual and healing significance. The smoke cleanses the people and the land, protecting participants from negative spirits, and is also used to promote physical and spiritual well-being.
Historically, our ancestors traveled long distances on foot across Country, and these ceremonies helped them connect to the land, their ancestors, and the Dreaming. The plants used in smoking ceremonies are more than just flora—they are traditional medicines, carefully chosen for their healing qualities, passed down through generations. The smoke symbolizes a return to Country, a purification of the spirit, and a reconnection to our origins.
Through these rituals, we continue the practice of caring for the land and our people, embodying the timeless bond between the physical world and the spiritual realms.
Cultural Walk and Talk - $2310
Begin your Cultural Walk and Talk experience with a traditional Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony, led by an Elder or Traditional Owner. This ceremony is a powerful way to cleanse the space, inviting positive energy and setting intentions as you connect with the land. As the smoke rises, so does the spirit of welcome and respect for the ancient wisdom shared on Country.
Over the next 60 minutes, the Elder will guide you on a journey through the natural environment, sharing the rich history, cultural significance, and sacred stories that are woven into the land. You’ll learn about the plants and animals that make up bush tucker, and discover how they’ve been used for thousands of years for food, medicine, and cultural practices.
This is more than just a walk—it’s an invitation to experience the spiritual connection between land, people, and the Dreaming. Along the way, feel free to ask questions and immerse yourself in the Elder’s knowledge. Each story and teaching is a reminder of the ongoing custodianship and deep bond Aboriginal people have with their Country, offering you a unique insight into their enduring relationship with the land.
Yidaki/Didgeridoo - $770
The Yidaki (Didgeridoo) is far more than just an instrument—it is a voice of the land, a connection to our ancestors, and a powerful expression of the Dreaming. Played in ceremonies like the Welcome to Country, the Yidaki echoes the heartbeat of the Earth, calling upon the spirits of the land and the ancestors to guide and protect those present. For thousands of years, the Yidaki has carried stories of creation, belonging, and cultural knowledge.
During a Welcome to Country ceremony, led by an Elder or Traditional Owner, the Yidaki’s deep, resonating sounds embody the connection between the physical world and the spiritual realm. It welcomes visitors who have traveled with purpose, embracing them into the heart of the land, offering safety and respect. The instrument carries the energy of the Dreaming, the sacred time when ancestral spirits shaped the land and all life upon it.
To play the Yidaki is to connect deeply with the land, the ancestors, and the sacred law of the Dreaming. Its music holds healing, unity, and a timeless bond between past, present, and future.
Spiritual Cleansing Ceremony - $550
A personal Spiritual Cleansing Ceremony led by an Elder or Traditional Owner is a transformative experience that brings participants closer to the essence of Country, culture, and spirit. In this sacred ritual, the Elder calls upon the wisdom of Ancestors, inviting their presence to help release negative energies and foster inner peace. Native plants, like eucalyptus and wattle, are placed onto embers to create a fragrant, cleansing smoke that wraps around each participant, washing away burdens and renewing the spirit.
With each waft of smoke, the Elder guides participants to open their hearts and minds, feeling the embrace of the land and the Ancestors who have walked it before. This is a moment of profound connection—an invitation to listen deeply, let go of pain, and feel the grounding energy of ancient knowledge.
This ceremony is not only an act of personal healing but also an acknowledgment of the powerful, ongoing relationship between people, Country, and community. Each person leaves the circle with a renewed sense of purpose, clarity, and unity, carrying forward the teachings and strength gifted by those who have walked this path long before us.
